Brothers, your DAC 2025 Brother of The Year David Heard (SFA 1994), and your DAC 2025 Young Professional of The Year Garrett Shaw (Texas State 2020).
At the December 2025 Chapter Meeting, David Heard, our Social Chair (and unofficial Young Professionals Coordinator / Champion) was asked to present our first ever Young Professional of The Year Award. Along side David's leadership and unwavering commitment to our young Sigs, Garrett was highly instrumental in the growth of our membership coming from our 30 & Under Sigs, so it was fitting that he be the 1st ever recipient of this DAC Award!
What Brother Heard didn't know was that immediately following the presentation of Brother Shaw's award, we surprised David with the prestigious Brother of The Year Award. David is responsible for planning all the DAC social events throughout the year AND for heading up our Young Professionals initiatives. Thanks to Brother Heard's such efforts, we have had close to 100 Sigs 30 & Under join the DAC in the last few years! Prior to that effort, this age group was almost non-existent in our DAC Membership.
In a chapter with over 350 members from 80+ colleges, both Brother Heard and Brother Shaw are fine representatives of their respective schools, but especially exemplary Sigma Chi Brothers!
